2025 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD Review: Prices, Specs, and Photos

The 2025 Chevy Silverado HD is a beast of a truck, designed for hauling heavy loads with ease. However, its size and capabilities may not make it the best option for everyday driving. With a hard ride and limited maneuverability, it may not be the most comfortable vehicle for daily commutes or running errands.

That being said, the Silverado HD does have some impressive features that make it stand out in the truck market. Models like the ZR2 and High Country come with four-wheel drive, perfect for off-road adventures. The ZR2 in particular is equipped with top-of-the-line components from American Expedition Vehicles, making it a capable off-road machine with its Multimatic DSSV spool-valve dampers and 35-inch mud tires.

When it comes to performance, the Silverado 2500HD doesn’t disappoint. The base 6.6-liter V-8 engine delivers 401 horsepower and 464 lb-ft of torque, while the optional 6.6-liter turbodiesel V-8 cranks out an impressive 470 hp and 975 lb-ft of torque. This diesel engine is the ideal choice for regular towing, providing ample power and torque for hauling heavy loads.

In terms of towing capacity, the Silverado 2500HD can handle a substantial amount of weight. Gas V-8 models can tow up to 18,700 pounds, while diesel models can tow up to 22,500 pounds. For even heavier loads, the 3500HD models can be configured to tow up to 36,000 pounds. Additionally, payload capacity ranges from 3,500 to over 6,500 pounds, depending on the configuration.

Despite its impressive towing capabilities, the Silverado HD may not be the most comfortable ride when unladen. The firm rear leaf springs result in a stiff and busy ride, especially on rough roads. However, Chevy has incorporated electronic steering assist to improve maneuverability in urban settings.

Overall, the 2025 Chevy Silverado HD is a powerhouse of a truck, perfect for towing heavy loads with ease. While it may not be the most comfortable daily driver, its performance and capabilities make it a top choice for those in need of a reliable and powerful hauler.
