Lucid Motors has announced the release of its highly anticipated 2025 Lucid Gravity electric SUV, set to hit the market with a starting price of $94,900. The SUV will be available for order starting on November 7, 2024, with the top-tier Grand Touring trim leading the way. This model is expected to boast an impressive 800 horsepower and a range of 440 miles, making it a formidable contender in the electric SUV market.
The Gravity Grand Touring will feature a dual-motor all-wheel drive system and a 112-kWh battery pack, similar to the one found in the Lucid Air luxury sedan. With an estimated 0-60 mph time of 3.5 seconds and a towing capacity of up to 6,000 pounds, this SUV is sure to impress performance enthusiasts. Additionally, the Grand Touring model will be followed by a more affordable Touring model priced at $79,900, which will qualify for the $7,500 federal EV tax credit.
One of the standout features of the Gravity SUV is its aerodynamic design, boasting a low coefficient of drag despite its three-row seating configuration. The SUV will be manufactured alongside the Lucid Air in Casa Grande, Arizona, but will ride on a different platform with a 900-volt architecture. This will enable fast DC charging, with an estimated 200 miles of range gained in just 15 minutes.
The Gravity SUV is expected to play a crucial role in Lucid’s journey to profitability, following a recent $1.5 billion cash injection from Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund. With strong competition in the three-row electric SUV segment, including models from Mercedes-Benz and Rivian, the Gravity will need to make a strong impression to stand out in the market.
Despite its premium price tag, the Gravity offers impressive performance and range capabilities, making it a compelling option for luxury SUV buyers looking to make the switch to electric. As the electric vehicle market continues to expand, the Gravity represents a significant step forward for Lucid Motors and the future of sustainable transportation.
