When it comes to midsize luxury SUVs, the Mercedes-Benz GLE lineup is a standout choice. With its powerful engines, luxurious accommodations, optional third row, and coupe-inspired body style, the GLE offers a combination of substance and style that is hard to beat. Competing with models like Audi’s Q7 and Q8, BMW’s X5 and X6, and Volvo’s XC90, the GLE holds its own with a range of powertrains, sumptuous cabins, and cutting-edge technology.

The 2025 GLE-Class lineup has added two new models to its roster. The entry-level GLE 350 SUV with rear-wheel drive has made a comeback after a year off, while the new GLE 450 4Matic Coupe boasts a panoramic roof, AMG Line exterior trim, and 20-inch AMG wheels. A biometric fingerprint sensor now comes standard across the lineup, along with new paint options, leather upholstery colors, and interior packages. Additionally, AMG models now feature front seat headrests with the AMG logo.

The exterior design of the GLE-Class is bold and muscular, with the SUV version featuring a steep rear pillar and the Coupe version sporting a sleek raked roofline. Fine detailing, such as intricate headlights, adds to the upscale and modern aesthetic.

Inside, the GLE offers a perfect blend of modern technology and classic design elements. A pair of 12.3-inch displays dominate the dashboard, while old-school rectangular vents provide a touch of nostalgia. Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay come standard, ensuring seamless connectivity on the go.

The GLE-Class features two rows of seating, with the option to add a snug third row if needed. The lineup includes models like the GLE 350, GLE 450, GLE 580, GLE 450e plug-in hybrid, AMG 53, and AMG 63, each offering a different level of performance and luxury.

Under the hood, the GLE-Class offers a range of powertrain options to suit every driver’s needs. From a turbocharged 4-cylinder engine in the GLE 350 to a twin-turbo V-8 in the GLE 580, there is a powertrain for every preference. The lineup also includes a plug-in hybrid model, the GLE 450e, which delivers impressive efficiency and a decent electric range.

In terms of safety, the 2025 GLE-Class is a Top Safety Pick+ according to the IIHS, with standard features like a surround-view camera system, automatic emergency braking, and blind-spot monitors. Optional safety upgrades include stop-and-go adaptive cruise control and active lane control.

Pricing for the 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class starts at $63,000 for the rear-wheel drive GLE 350 SUV and goes up to $131,950 for the AMG GLE 63 S. The Coupe models are slightly more expensive than their SUV counterparts, with prices ranging from $77,550 for the GLE 450 4Matic Coupe to $133,300 for the GLE 63 S Coupe.

Overall, the 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class offers a compelling combination of performance, luxury, and style. Built at Mercedes’ Tuscaloosa, Alabama, production plant, this SUV is a top choice for drivers looking for a midsize luxury vehicle that stands out from the crowd.
