BMW iX Review 2025, Price & Specs

The BMW iX sets itself apart from other BMW models with its futuristic interior design. Adopting the minimalist style that is now common across most BMWs, the iX features a wide curved screen and few buttons. However, some may find this interior style to be a step back from the previous generation cabins. The sparse dash, stretched climate control, and convoluted menu structures may not appeal to everyone.

The Operating System 8.5, BMW’s software for the iX, introduces some improvements over the previous version, with more shortcuts and a configurable home screen. Despite these upgrades, certain settings can still be challenging to find and require too many taps and swipes to access. BMW’s built-in navigation system is highly praised, although setting up the EV route planner to avoid unreliable charging networks may take some time.

The luxurious feel of the iX’s interior suits its high price tag, making it feel like a true £100,000 car. The quality of materials used in the cabin is top-notch, with soft, smooth grey leather covering almost every surface. Unique fabric upholstery options are available, adding visual interest to the interior. The seats in the iX are broad, soft, and comfortable, providing a surprisingly high level of comfort for a BMW vehicle.

Despite its size, the iX offers generous rear-seat space and a decent-sized boot. The rear bench is set relatively high, allowing for a more comfortable seating position compared to other electric vehicles. However, the boot size is slightly compromised due to the need to clear the battery pack and rear drive motor.

Overall, the BMW iX offers a high-tech and luxurious driving experience, with a focus on comfort and quality. While some may find the interior design to be a departure from traditional BMW styling, the iX’s unique features and attention to detail make it a standout option in the luxury electric vehicle market.
