BMW M3 CS Review 2025, Price & Specs

The BMW M3 CS Touring is essentially the estate version of the M4 CS, offering a similar driving experience. I had the opportunity to test both vehicles back to back at Thruxton Circuit and on the local roads. While there is a slight difference in handling due to the larger boot of the Touring model, it is hardly noticeable.

One of the standout features of the M3 CS Touring is its versatility and confidence-inspiring performance on the track, especially when equipped with Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. These tires provide immense grip, allowing the car to remain stable through fast corners and enabling drivers to push the limits of cornering speeds and braking. The carbon-ceramic brakes effortlessly handle the increased demands on the track.

The traction control, stability control, and four-wheel drive systems of the M3 CS Touring are highly customizable, allowing drivers to adjust them to their comfort level. Even in their most conservative settings, these systems operate seamlessly, providing a sense of security on the track.

Like other recent four-wheel-drive M cars, the M3 CS Touring can switch to rear-wheel-drive mode for a more spirited driving experience. The 543bhp engine paired with the Cup 2 tires allows for controlled oversteer, giving drivers the freedom to explore the limits of the car’s handling.

On the road, the M3 CS Touring equipped with 4S tires offers a more connected driving experience at the expense of some ride comfort. The steering is precise, and the car exhibits impressive grip, urging drivers to push the limits of speed. The xDrive system in 4WD Sport mode ensures stability, although the car tends to prioritize grip over playful behavior.

The M3 CS Touring excels in straight-line acceleration, effortlessly overtaking slower traffic. The turbocharged six-cylinder engine delivers impressive performance, although it lacks the soulful sound of naturally aspirated engines. The sports exhaust can become droney at high revs, prompting some drivers to turn it off on the track.

Overall, the BMW M3 CS Touring is a versatile and capable track car that offers a thrilling driving experience both on the track and the road. Its performance capabilities, combined with its practicality as an estate car, make it a compelling choice for enthusiasts seeking a balance of speed and functionality.
