BYD’s sub-brand Fang Cheng Bao is set to launch the Tai 7 SUV in September, marking the second model in its Tai series. The head of the brand, Xiong Tianbo, revealed in a recent Q&A session on Weibo that the first batch of show cars for the hybrid SUV will be available at Fang Cheng Bao stores by the end of August.
The Tai 7, with dimensions of 4,999 mm in length, 1,995 mm in width, and 1,865 mm in height, boasts the largest interior space among Fang Cheng Bao’s current product lineup. This model is designed to cater to urban driving needs and is equipped with BYD’s advanced God’s Eye smart driving system, offering versions with and without LiDAR.
The all-wheel-drive long-range version of the Tai 7 features a 35.6-kWh battery pack, delivering a CLTC battery range of up to 180 kilometers. On the other hand, the two-wheel-drive standard-range version comes with a 26.6-kWh battery pack, providing a CLTC battery range of 135 kilometers. When fully fueled and charged, the Tai 7 can achieve a combined range exceeding 1,300 kilometers.
In addition to its impressive features, BYD introduced an in-house developed tablet on August 12, which will be integrated into the Tai 7. The launch of the Fang Cheng Bao brand in 2023 marked the introduction of the Bao 5 and Bao 8 hybrid off-road SUVs and the Tai 3 compact family SUV. Following this, the brand unveiled its Tai series product line in December 2024, with the Tai 7 being the latest addition.
The interior design of the Tai 7 adopts a softer overall style, catering to the family car market and distinguishing itself from the Bao 8 with a more rounded aesthetic. With its spacious interior, advanced technology, and impressive range capabilities, the Tai 7 SUV is set to make a significant impact in the market upon its official launch in September.
