BYD, a leading electric vehicle manufacturer in China, is making waves overseas with the launch of its newest midsize electric SUV, the Sealion 07. The company is expanding its reach into the European market, following a successful debut at the Paris Auto Show last month.

Designed by BYD’s chief designer, Wolfgang Egger, the Sealion 07 is more than just an SUV – it’s a lifestyle statement. With sleek “Ocean Aesthetics” exterior design and a high-tech interior featuring a 15.6″ rotating touchscreen and advanced driver-assist features, this electric SUV is set to make a splash in Europe.

Priced at around $42,200 in Norway, the Sealion 07 is equipped with a 91.3 kWh BYD Blade battery that offers up to 312 miles of WLTP range. It also boasts an impressive 530 hp, allowing for a 0 to 62 mph sprint in just 4.5 seconds. With DC fast charging capabilities of up to 230 kW, the Sealion 07 can charge from 10% to 80% in just 24 minutes, making it convenient for long journeys.

In comparison to other popular electric SUVs in Europe, such as the Tesla Model Y, the Sealion 07 holds its own with a spacious interior that can accommodate up to 1,789 L of luggage and a towing capacity of up to 3,300 lbs. It’s no wonder that BYD is confident in the Sealion 07’s ability to compete in the European market.

This electric SUV is BYD’s eighth vehicle to launch in Europe, joining the ranks of other successful models like the Dolphin, Seal, Seal U, and Atto 3. With the Sealion 07, BYD aims to extend its reach in Europe and cater to customer demand and tastes.

According to recent data, BYD saw a 65% increase in sales of the Sealion series models in October alone, indicating a growing demand for electric vehicles in the market. European deliveries of the Sealion 07 are set to begin in 2025, and the company is optimistic about the SUV’s potential to compete with top-selling models like the Tesla Model Y and Volvo EX30.

As BYD continues to expand its presence in Europe and beyond, the Sealion 07 represents a significant step forward in the company’s mission to deliver innovative and sustainable transportation solutions. Stay tuned for updates on the Sealion 07’s performance in the European market and its competition with other popular electric SUVs.
