BYD Atto 2 Electric SUV Launched in the UK at Competitive Prices

The much-anticipated BYD Atto 2 electric SUV has officially hit the UK market, with prices starting from £30,850. This move by BYD is a strategic one, as it undercuts many of its competitors in the electric vehicle segment.

BYD introduced the Atto 2 at the Brussels Motor Show earlier this year, touting it as a game-changer in the realm of green travel in Europe. The compact electric SUV fills the gap between BYD’s Dolphin and Atto 3 models, offering a versatile option for consumers. After its successful launch in China last year, the Atto 2 is now making its mark in Europe and the UK.

The Atto 2 is available in two trims: Boost and Comfort. The base Boost model comes with a 51.1 kWh BYD Blade battery, providing a range of up to 214 miles. In city driving conditions, the Atto 2 can cover up to 302 miles on a single charge. On the other hand, the Comfort model boasts a larger 64.8 kWh battery, offering a range of up to 261 miles.

One of the standout features of the Atto 2 is its fast-charging capability. With a 155 kW DC fast charger, the electric SUV can charge from 30% to 80% in just 21 minutes. Additionally, all Atto 2 models come equipped with a 12.8″ floating touchscreen, wireless smartphone charger, and “Hi BYD” AI voice control. The vehicle-to-load (V2L) capabilities allow the Atto 2 to power external devices such as a coffee maker or lawnmower.

Despite its competitive pricing, the Atto 2 does not compromise on space or features. Measuring 4,310 mm long, 1,830 mm wide, and 1,675 mm tall, the Atto 2 offers ample interior space thanks to BYD’s e-Platform 3.0 and extended wheelbase. The Boost trim is currently available for ordering, with the Comfort model set to arrive later this year. Deliveries are expected to commence in September.

BYD’s launch of the Atto 2 in the UK follows its recent debut in Hong Kong, where it significantly undercut Tesla’s cheapest offering by approximately 30%. With its attractive pricing, impressive range, and advanced features, the BYD Atto 2 is poised to make a significant impact in the electric vehicle market.
