Jaguar Land Rover Unveils Limited Edition Classic Defender V8 Churchill Edition

Jaguar Land Rover has recently introduced a special edition of the Classic Defender V8 inspired by the Land Rover Series 1 that was gifted to Winston Churchill. This exclusive model, known as the Classic Defender V8 Churchill Edition, is a tribute to the iconic British leader and is limited to just 10 units.

Available in either the 90 or 110 bodystyles of the Defender produced between 2012 and 2016, the Churchill Edition is equipped with a powerful 400bhp 5.0-litre V8 engine. Prices for this bespoke vehicle start at £279,000 for the 90 variant and go up to £295,200 for the 110. The soft-top 90 model, priced at £291,000, features a custom canvas hood.

The original Land Rover Series 1 gifted to Churchill, registered as ‘UKE 80’, was restored and is currently on display at the Emil Frey Classics Museum in Switzerland. To ensure an accurate recreation, the Works Bespoke team from Jaguar Land Rover visited the museum to study and replicate the unique details of the original vehicle.

The limited-run Churchill Edition models are finished in the same Bronze Green color as the original, with interior trim and seats upholstered in Bridge of Weir semi-aniline leather in Bottle Green. The classic Land Rover heritage color is also applied to the 16-inch heavy-duty steel wheels and the center console.

Additional features of the Churchill Edition include a galvanized front bumper, a metal mesh grille, a ‘UKE 80’ decal on the front wings, and bespoke badging on the rear. Jaguar Land Rover has paid meticulous attention to detail to ensure that every aspect of the Churchill Edition lives up to its inspirational source.
