Huawei’s HIMA (Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance) business is set to expand significantly next year, with the introduction of more than 10 new models. One of the key additions will be the Aito M8, which is poised to rival Li Auto’s Li L9 in the market.

According to a recent report by local media outlet 36kr, the HIMA lineup will see a nearly doubling in the number of available models next year. Among the new releases will be the M5, M7, M8, and M9 under the Aito brand, the S9 and its EREV variant under the Stelato brand, as well as the S7 and R7 under the Luxeed brand. Additionally, there will be updates and facelifts to existing models within the HIMA portfolio.

Aito, a joint brand between Huawei and Seres Group, is gearing up to launch the M8 SUV model in the first half of 2025. This new addition will directly compete with Li Auto’s Li L9, which currently offers two variants in China with starting prices ranging from RMB 409,800 to RMB 439,800.

The flagship model in Aito’s lineup, the M9, is already seen as a competitor to the Li L9, albeit with a higher price tag. However, Huawei is placing high expectations on the Aito M8, focusing on enhancing the overall product experience to stand out in the market.

Meanwhile, Stelato, a joint brand between Huawei and BAIC, will introduce an EREV version for the S9 next year, along with a longer wheelbase variant and a wagon variant. The Stelato S9, launched in August 2024 with a starting price of RMB 399,800, is currently only available in BEV variants.

Overall, the HIMA business, which has been in operation for 32 months, has already delivered a total of 500,000 units across all models. With the upcoming expansion and introduction of new models, Huawei’s presence in the electric vehicle market is set to grow significantly.

In conclusion, Huawei’s HIMA business is making significant strides in the electric vehicle market, with plans to introduce a range of new models next year. The competition with Li Auto’s Li L9 and the focus on enhancing product experiences highlight the company’s commitment to innovation and growth in the industry.
