Huawei’s HIMA’s Luxeed S7 exhibition cars have made their way to over 300 stores in 83 Chinese cities, with pre-sales set to begin on November 10. The new Luxeed S7 boasts a range of exterior paint options and 19/20-inch color-matching rims. It is equipped with Huawei’s DriveONE 800V high-voltage silicon carbide power platform and offers the ADS 3.0 basic or advanced intelligent driving versions.
The current price range for the Luxeed S7 is between 249,800 and 349,800 yuan (approximately 34,800 – 48,700 USD). Despite its features, the sales performance of the Luxeed S7 has been moderate, with only 2,522 units sold in October. In comparison, sales figures were even lower in the previous months, with only 784 units sold in December of the previous year, and 604 and 794 units sold in January and February this year, respectively.
The new Luxeed S7 introduces four new exterior paint options: red, purple, blue, and light blue, in addition to the existing colors available. The dimensions of the new model are expected to remain the same as the current model, with a wheelbase of 2950 mm.
The exterior design of the new Luxeed S7 stays true to the current model, featuring a closed front face, slender headlights, hidden door handles, and through-type taillights. Some models may also come equipped with a roof lidar.
Inside the cockpit, drivers can enjoy a three-spoke steering wheel, an instrument panel, a floating central control screen, and a layered center console with wireless charging for mobile phones and ample storage space. The operating system is powered by Huawei’s HarmonyOS 4.
The new Luxeed S7 is likely to be powered by Huawei’s DriveONE 800V silicon carbide high-voltage power platform. The AWD trim offers a total power of 365 kW (489 hp) from the front AC asynchronous motor and rear permanent magnet synchronous motor, with a 0 – 100 km/h acceleration time of 3.3 seconds. The single-motor trim delivers a maximum power of 215 kW (288 hp) and can accelerate from 0 – 100 km/h in 5.4 seconds, with a cruising range of 855 km.
