Nio, a prominent electric vehicle (EV) maker, has been making significant strides in expanding its battery swap station network in China. As of now, the company has surpassed 2,600 battery swap stations in the country, with 285 new stations added just this year.

The latest addition of 3 battery swap stations brings the total count to 2,601, showcasing Nio’s commitment to providing convenient and efficient charging solutions for its customers. This month alone, Nio has added 45 new stations, a notable increase compared to the previous months.

In September 2023, Nio achieved a record-high of 155 new battery swap stations, indicating a steady growth trajectory. The company’s focus on expanding its infrastructure became apparent in August and September, with 40 and 58 stations added respectively.

Nio’s ambitious goal of adding 1,000 battery swap stations in China in 2024 seems well within reach, with the company already making substantial progress. The introduction of the fourth-generation battery swap station at the last Nio Day event further solidified its commitment to enhancing the charging experience for customers.

Moreover, Nio’s sub-brand, Onvo, has seen a significant increase in the number of available battery swap stations this year. With a goal of reaching 1,000 stations by the end of the year, Onvo is making steady progress in expanding its network.

Notably, Nio has strategically placed 868 battery swap stations along highways, catering to the needs of long-distance travelers. The company continues to focus on improving accessibility, with 80.1% of Nio owners having a station within 3 kilometers of their home or office.

In addition to battery swap stations, Nio also boasts a robust network of supercharging and destination charging stations in China, providing a comprehensive charging solution for EV owners. With access to over 1.11 million third-party charging piles, Nio ensures that customers have ample options for charging their vehicles.

Beyond China, Nio has expanded its presence in overseas markets, with 56 battery swap stations in Europe. Countries like Norway and Germany have seen significant uptake, with 19 and 18 stations respectively.

Overall, Nio’s commitment to expanding its charging infrastructure reflects its dedication to providing a seamless and convenient charging experience for EV owners. As the company continues to grow and innovate, customers can expect even more convenient and efficient charging solutions in the future.
