Nio Inc’s sub-brand Firefly has recently introduced a limited-edition special version of its Firefly EV model, known as the “Nomadic Melade.” This exclusive edition starts at RMB 133,800 ($18,710) with the battery pack included and is limited to just 333 units. The price of this special edition is RMB 14,000 higher than the base model of the Firefly EV, representing an increase of 11.69 percent.

For customers opting for the Battery as a Service (BaaS) battery rental plan, the special edition variant can be purchased at a starting price of RMB 93,800, with a monthly battery rental fee of RMB 399.

The Firefly EV, which was launched on April 19 by Firefly, is currently the only model available for sale under this sub-brand. Deliveries of the Firefly EV in China began on April 29. The special edition Firefly EV features a unique low-saturation color scheme, along with exclusive decals and wheel designs, enhancing the overall aesthetics of the compact hatchback.

In addition to the special edition Firefly EV, Firefly has also expanded its market presence by commencing deliveries in Norway and the Netherlands on August 14. This marks the entry of the Nio sub-brand into overseas markets, allowing for further expansion and growth opportunities.

Furthermore, there are reports suggesting that Firefly will launch a special edition Firefly EV in China, based on the European version of the compact hatchback. This launch is expected to coincide with Nio Day 2025 in September, where the third-generation Nio ES8 will be officially introduced. The production capacity of Firefly has significantly increased, allowing for the introduction of new variants and special editions to cater to different customer preferences and market demands.

Overall, the special edition Firefly EV offers customers a unique and exclusive driving experience, with limited units available for purchase. The pricing and features of this special edition make it a desirable option for those looking for a premium and distinctive compact hatchback in the electric vehicle market.
