The market for electric family cars in the £40,000-£60,000 price range has been evolving rapidly, with manufacturers striving to blend traditional bodystyles with the practicality of SUVs. The Nissan Ariya is a prime example of this trend, standing out as a high and handsome member of the EV class.

Stepping into the Nissan Ariya, you are greeted with a spacious and airy interior. Despite the slightly curved roofline limiting headroom for taller occupants, the cabin feels open and welcoming. The flat floor enhances the overall sense of space, making it easy to move around the cabin. Even on the base Engage trim, the interior feels surprisingly roomy, with ample leg and shoulder room for both front and rear passengers.

The higher-trim models of the Ariya come with some unique features that enhance convenience and comfort. The motorized sliding center console allows you to customize the position of the central armrest pod, while the motorized storage cubby-cum-table provides additional secure storage space. The cabin is adorned with premium materials, including wood veneer trim and bronze-colored accents, adding a touch of luxury to the interior.

The entry-level model of the Ariya features fabric-upholstered seats and more basic materials to keep costs down. Despite this, the cabin still exudes a welcoming atmosphere, with thoughtful design touches and a bright, roomy feel. The higher-trim models may show a slight drop in premium quality in some areas, but overall, the interior of the Ariya sets a promising tone in terms of comfort, practicality, and luxury feel.

In terms of infotainment, the Nissan Ariya comes equipped with two 12.3-inch displays integrated in a unique wave-like form. Most functions are controlled via the touchscreen or voice command, with physical controls for volume and ventilation also provided. Steering wheel remote controls further enhance convenience when operating the audio system.

Overall, the Nissan Ariya offers a well-appointed interior with a focus on comfort, convenience, and modern technology. With its spacious cabin, premium materials, and innovative features, the Ariya sets a new standard for electric family cars in this price range.
