Xpeng, a prominent Chinese electric vehicle (EV) maker listed on the NYSE under XPEV, has set ambitious goals for its global expansion by the end of 2025. The company aims to penetrate more than 60 international markets and anticipates that half of its total sales will come from these international ventures.

In a significant step towards achieving this goal, Xpeng has entered into a distributor agreement to enter the Irish car market, further solidifying its presence in Europe. The company announced today that Motor Distributors Limited (MDL) has been appointed as the official importer and distributor of Xpeng’s all-electric passenger cars in Ireland.

This strategic move underscores Xpeng’s dedication to the European market, with Ireland being identified as another crucial right-hand drive market. The launch of the G6 SUV, a mid-size coupe SUV known for its high-end technology and industry-leading features such as 800-volt supercharging and extended range, will mark the initial phase of introducing Xpeng models across Ireland.

The EV market in Ireland is experiencing rapid growth, fueled by government incentives, expanding infrastructure, and a rising demand for sustainable transportation solutions. Xpeng believes that its partnership with MDL will cater to this escalating demand effectively.

MDL, a reputable dealer of sedans, light vans, and commercial vehicles, possesses extensive market know-how and a robust network that will facilitate Xpeng’s expansion in Europe. Collaboratively, Xpeng and MDL plan to establish dealerships throughout Ireland, providing local drivers with access to intelligent, eco-friendly mobility solutions.

Since commencing deliveries in Norway towards the end of 2020, Xpeng has successfully introduced its models in several European countries, including Denmark, Sweden, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, France, Iceland, Spain, and Portugal. The company’s strategic roadmap includes expanding its footprint to over 60 global markets by 2025, with a target of generating half of its sales from international markets.

This recent foray into Ireland follows Xpeng’s successful launch of the G9 and G6 SUVs, as well as the P7 sedan in Spain and Portugal at the end of September. The company continues to make significant strides in Europe, with a commitment to offering innovative and sustainable mobility solutions to a diverse array of markets.

In conclusion, Xpeng’s entry into the Irish car market exemplifies its proactive approach towards global expansion and underscores its commitment to providing cutting-edge EV solutions to consumers worldwide. As the company continues to broaden its reach and introduce its innovative models to new markets, Xpeng is poised to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of intelligent and eco-friendly transportation.
