2025 Audi RS e-tron GT: Supercar Speed Meets Daily Driver Comfort

I recently had the opportunity to test drive the all-new 2025 RS Audi GT e-tron, both in the Nevada desert and on a race track. As an electric vehicle enthusiast, I was eager to experience Audi’s latest offering in the EV space.

Audi has truly upped its game with the new electric vehicles based on the PPE platform. Having previously driven the Q6 and A6, both based on the same platform, I was already impressed with Audi’s commitment to electric mobility. However, the flagship Audi GT e-tron, especially the top-performance RS version introduced with the 2025 model-year refresh, takes things to a whole new level.

While the design changes in the 2025 GT e-tron are subtle, with updates to the grill, wheels, and rear reflector, the real magic lies under the hood. The RS version is now the most powerful Audi ever, boasting almost 1,000 horsepower thanks to new motors with increased copper density. This not only results in more power but also lower weight, enhancing the overall performance of the vehicle.

One of the standout features of the RS GT e-tron is its regenerative braking capacity, allowing for a high rate of regen at 400kW. This feature, coupled with the ability to go from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.4 seconds with launch control engaged, delivers an exhilarating driving experience.

The advanced adaptive air suspension with damper control further enhances the driving dynamics of the RS GT e-tron. The suspension adjusts quickly, providing stability and balance even in high-speed corners. I had the opportunity to test the active suspension’s cornering compensation on a track, and the difference it made was truly remarkable.

In terms of range, the 2025 GT e-tron offers up to 51 more miles of range compared to its predecessor, with fast-charging capabilities allowing for a 10 to 80% charge in just 18 minutes. This ensures that drivers can spend more time on the road and less time waiting for their vehicle to recharge.

Of course, all this performance comes at a price, with the S e-tron GT starting at $125,500 and the RS e-tron GT Performance starting at $167,000. The version I tested, loaded with options, was closer to $180,000.

Overall, my experience driving the Audi GT e-tron was nothing short of impressive. The combination of performance, comfort, and advanced technology makes it a compelling option in the luxury electric vehicle market. Whether cruising on the highway or tearing up a race track, the Audi GT e-tron delivers a driving experience that is second to none.
