2025 BMW iX Review: Prices, Specs, and Photos

The 2025 BMW iX is BMW’s latest offering in the all-electric luxury crossover SUV market. With seating for five passengers, the iX boasts polarizing exterior styling that sets it apart from its competitors. When comparing it to other vehicles in its class, the Cadillac Lyriq, Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV, and Audi E-Tron SUV come to mind.

So, is the 2025 BMW iX a good SUV? According to experts, BMW’s purpose-built EV scores well for its comfortable and spacious interior, as well as its impressive overall range. However, its unique looks may not appeal to everyone. On the TCC scale, it receives a solid 8.0 rating.

In terms of what’s new for the 2025 BMW iX, there are few notable changes, but the price tag has actually been lowered. There may also be a less-powerful xDrive40 model joining the lineup in 2025, offering a lower range of about 211-219 miles. The iX’s design is certainly polarizing, with its bold front end and angular surface detailing. However, the interior is a different story, offering a serene and luxurious cabin with top-notch materials.

Performance-wise, the base xDrive50 model delivers 516 hp, allowing it to accelerate from 0-60 mph in just 4.4 seconds. The more powerful M60 model boasts 610 hp and a quick response to throttle inputs. Both models come equipped with a large 109.5 kWh battery, making them heavy vehicles at over 6,000 pounds. While they offer a comfortable ride on the highway, the iX’s handling may feel disconnected on curvy roads compared to other BMW models.

In terms of range, the xDrive50 model offers up to 309 miles, while the M60 model is estimated at 284-285 miles. The iX’s interior is spacious and luxurious, with high-quality materials and plenty of comfortable seating for five passengers. Safety features include automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and blind-spot monitors, with the option for a high-tech highway driving assistance system.

Priced at $87,250, the 2025 BMW iX is now more affordable than before, offering a well-equipped vehicle with a range of features including a large touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, heated and power-adjustable seats, and 20-inch alloy wheels. Made in Germany, the iX is a standout option in the luxury electric SUV market.
