The BYD Denza B8, also known as the Fangchengbao Formula Leopard Bao 8, is a remarkable three-row SUV that boasts 4WD capabilities and a cutting-edge plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrain. Expected to be marketed in Australia under the luxury offshoot Denza, this vehicle is set to compete with the likes of the Toyota LandCruiser 300 Series, Nissan Patrol, and even the Defender 130, offering a more luxurious experience at a potentially lower price point.

The Denza B8 is equipped with a 2.0L 4cyl turbo-petrol PHEV engine that produces a whopping 550kW and 760Nm of torque, making it a powerhouse on the road. With a 36.8kWh BYD Blade LFP battery and e-CVT transmission, this SUV offers an impressive electric driving range of 100km on a single charge (WLTC) and a maximum combined range of 1200km (CLTC).

Inside, the B8 exudes luxury and sophistication, with features like genuine leather upholstery, heated and ventilated seats, a 17.3-inch central touchscreen, and a 12.3-inch LCD instrument cluster. The cabin is spacious and comfortable, with ample storage options, including cupholders, wireless phone charging pads, and large bottle holders.

Safety is paramount in the Denza B8, with a host of advanced driver-assist technologies, including full-speed adaptive cruise control, collision detection, blind-spot warning, and lane-keeping assist. The vehicle is equipped with a comprehensive array of sensors and cameras, ensuring a safe and secure driving experience.

In terms of pricing and running costs, details are yet to be confirmed, but the Denza B8 is expected to offer a competitive warranty package, with at least five years of cover and potentially longer warranties for the vehicle and battery pack. Servicing is expected to be hassle-free, with the possibility of a complimentary service program for the first few years of ownership.

Overall, the BYD Denza B8 is a game-changer in the extra-large SUV segment, offering a unique blend of luxury, performance, and advanced technology. With its impressive specifications and promising driving experience, this vehicle has the potential to make a significant impact in the Australian market.
