2025 Cadillac Escalade Review: Prices, Specs, and Photos

The Cadillac Escalade is a powerhouse on the road, delivering a thrilling driving experience with its supple ride and powerful V-8 engines. Whether you opt for the base 6.2-liter V-8 or the supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 found in the Escalade-V model, you can expect great acceleration and impressive performance.

The base engine produces 420 horsepower, propelling the Escalade from 0 to 60 mph in around 6.0 seconds. The quick-shifting 10-speed automatic transmission ensures smooth power delivery, although some drivers may find the low-speed shifts to be a bit inconsistent. On the other hand, the Escalade-V model boasts a staggering 682 horsepower and 653 lb-ft of torque, significantly reducing the acceleration time and providing a thrilling driving experience.

In terms of handling, all Escalade models offer strong braking performance, but the Escalade-V stands out with its Brembo brakes that provide exceptional stopping power. Additionally, the Escalade can tow up to 8,300 pounds, making it suitable for hauling boats and trailers.

When it comes to ride comfort, the Escalade offers a smooth and luxurious experience, especially when equipped with optional air suspension and adaptive dampers. These features help minimize road imperfections and enhance overall ride quality. However, the larger wheel options, such as the 22-inch and 24-inch wheels, may compromise ride comfort due to the low-profile tires.

Despite its impressive performance capabilities, the Escalade is not known for its agility or nimbleness. Its large size and weight can make it feel cumbersome on the road, particularly in tight corners. While the Escalade-V model offers slightly sportier handling, it falls short of more performance-oriented SUVs like the AMG-tweaked GLS.

Overall, the Cadillac Escalade is a formidable SUV that combines luxury, power, and performance. Whether you prioritize acceleration, towing capacity, or ride comfort, the Escalade delivers on all fronts, making it a popular choice among luxury SUV enthusiasts.
