Dodge is one of the few automakers that is still keeping affordable V-8 performance alive, and they are doing so in the form of their three-row midsize SUV, the Durango. The 2025 Durango lineup has been announced with new pricing, starting at $51,590 for the Durango R/T, which comes equipped with a 5.7-liter V-8 engine that delivers 360 hp to all four wheels through an 8-speed automatic transmission.
Unfortunately, fans of the mid-range 6.4-liter V-8 will be disappointed as it is no longer part of the lineup. The next step up in power is the supercharged 6.2-liter Hellcat V-8, available in the Durango SRT Hellcat, starting at $86,590 with standard all-wheel drive. For those on a tighter budget, the base Durango GT offers a 3.6-liter V-6 engine making 360 hp with all-wheel drive, starting at $40,090. All prices mentioned include a $1,595 destination charge.
While there are no major updates for 2025, Dodge has been introducing a series of special editions to celebrate 20 years of the Hemi V-8 in the Durango. The GT’s available Plus Package has also been enhanced with more standard features, such as a power sunroof, navigation, a nine-speaker Alpine audio system, heated first and second rows, and a range of electronic driver-assist features. Additionally, a 10.1-inch touchscreen has been made standard on all 2025 Durangos.
Looking ahead, rumors suggest that a redesigned Durango may arrive in 2026, possibly based on Stellantis’ STLA Large platform for midsize vehicles. It remains to be seen whether the new model will continue to offer a V-8 engine option. Dodge enthusiasts will have to wait and see what the future holds for this iconic SUV.
