Renault has been looking to its past for inspiration, and now Fiat is following suit with the reimagined Grande Panda – an electric and hybrid crossover that pays homage to one of its most popular models. The Grande Panda is not a massive vehicle, measuring in at 3.99 meters in length, fitting perfectly into the compact crossover class. With angular lines, boxy proportions, and unique design elements reminiscent of the 1980s, the Grande Panda stands out in the crowd.

The interior of the Grande Panda is a blend of modern technology and sustainable materials. The dashboard features a 10-inch digital instrument display and a 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen. Recycled plastics and bamboo are used throughout the cabin, adding a touch of eco-friendliness. The seats are supportive and comfortable, making longer journeys a breeze. The rear seats offer sufficient legroom and headroom for passengers.

Under the hood, the Grande Panda offers two powertrain options. The electric model features an 83kW electric motor and a 43.8kWh battery. The hybrid variant combines a turbocharged 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system. Both models provide a comfortable and efficient driving experience, making them ideal for city and urban environments.

When it comes to safety, the Grande Panda comes equipped with standard features such as airbags, traffic sign recognition, and lane keep assist. While the car has not yet been assessed by Euro NCAP, Fiat is expected to deliver a vehicle that prioritizes safety.

For those concerned about running costs, the Grande Panda offers a combined WLTP driving range of 320km and consumes 16.8kWh/100km. With a three-year/150,000-kilometer warranty and an eight-year/160,000-kilometer warranty on high-voltage traction batteries, Fiat ensures peace of mind for owners.

Overall, the Fiat Grande Panda is a stylish, practical, and eco-friendly choice in the compact crossover segment. With a unique design, efficient powertrains, and a focus on sustainability, the Grande Panda offers a refreshing take on electric and hybrid vehicles. If Fiat decides to bring this model to Australia at an affordable price point, it is sure to attract attention and make a mark in the market.
