Mitsubishi has recently unveiled the updated 2025 Outlander crossover, with a starting price of $31,140 for the base ES front-wheel drive model. This price includes a destination fee of $1,495. The full pricing details will be revealed on Feb. 24.
While the base price represents a $1,300 increase from the previous 2024 model, Mitsubishi promises several upgrades for the 2025 Outlander. The new model will feature improved materials, enhanced sound deadening to reduce road noise by 0.5 decibel and overall sound levels by 6 decibels compared to its predecessor.
In terms of interior updates, the 2025 Outlander will come with relocated cupholders to create more space around the wireless device charging pad. The cabin will also boast a larger center console and a new Yamaha audio system. The three-row seating configuration remains intact, with the addition of a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen as standard for 2025. Additionally, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto will be available across all trim levels.
Mitsubishi has also promised recalibrated steering and suspension settings for a more refined driving experience. The 2025 Outlander will continue to be powered by a 2.5-liter inline-4 engine mated to a CVT, with the option of front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. The engine currently produces 181 hp, though any changes to power output for the new model have not been confirmed. The Outlander Plug-In Hybrid variant will also return for 2025, equipped with a 2.4-liter inline-4 engine and a two-motor hybrid system that delivers 248 hp and 38 miles of EPA-rated electric range.
As Mitsubishi’s largest and most expensive offering, the Outlander serves as the brand’s flagship vehicle. With the discontinuation of the Mirage, the 2025 lineup will consist of the Eclipse Cross, Outlander Sport, and the updated Outlander crossover. The Outlander shares its platform with the Nissan Rogue, solidifying its position as a versatile and capable compact crossover option for customers.
