XPENG Accelerates International Expansion with Delivery of X9 MPVs in Thailand

Chinese new energy vehicle manufacturer XPENG made a significant move in their international expansion efforts this week with the delivery of 300 right-hand-drive XPENG X9 units to Thailand. The shipments arrived in Thailand on March 8, 2025, marking the official start of deliveries in the country and further strengthening XPENG’s product lineup in the Thai market.

The XPENG X9, the company’s flagship MPV, made its global debut at the 41st Thailand International Motor Expo in November 2024. The model’s entry into international markets was solidified with subsequent launches at the Singapore Motor Show in January 2025 and in China’s Macao city in February 2025, offering a premium all-electric MPV option to consumers in these regions.

During the 255th overseas shipment ceremony at Nansha Port in Guangzhou on February 22, XPENG Chairman He Xiaopeng highlighted the X9’s competitive edge in the high-end electric vehicle segment across the Asia-Pacific region. He expressed confidence in leading sales within the sector by 2025 and emphasized the X9’s flexible interior design tailored to the needs of Southeast Asia’s large family structures.

As part of its global strategy, XPENG is focused on deeper market penetration, the widespread adoption of core technologies, and the expansion of an international ultra-fast charging network. Since launching internationalization efforts in 2020, the company has expanded its presence to over 30 countries and regions worldwide.

Looking ahead, XPENG aims to enter 60 countries and regions and establish more than 300 overseas service outlets by 2025. By 2027, the company aims to rank among the top three global exporters of new energy vehicles (NEVs) with a long-term goal of having overseas sales account for over half of its total deliveries by 2030.

In terms of technology development, XPENG plans to accelerate the development of its Turing AI intelligent driving system with the goal of achieving full-scenario autonomous driving capabilities by 2026. The company is also pushing forward with the global rollout of its ultra-fast charging network, creating an efficient energy replenishment ecosystem for users worldwide.

With these strategic initiatives in place, XPENG is well-positioned to continue its expansion into international markets and solidify its presence as a key player in the global new energy vehicle industry.
