Huawei-backed Aito has officially launched the 2025 M9 SUV, equipped with four LiDARs to enhance its smart driving capabilities and safety features. The updated Aito M9, which was unveiled at a recent Huawei product launch event, is available in seven different configurations with prices ranging from RMB 469,800 to RMB 569,800.

The 2025 M9 comes in both 5- and 6-seat options, as well as battery electric vehicle (BEV) and extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) variants. With dimensions of 5,230 mm in length, 1,999 mm in width, and 1,800 mm in height, the SUV features a wheelbase of 3,110 mm.

One of the key upgrades in the updated Aito M9 is the addition of three extra LiDARs, including two on the sides and one at the rear, in addition to the one already present on the roof. These additional LiDARs help the vehicle detect low obstacles and objects that may not be visible to the roof-mounted LiDAR.

The Aito M9 is powered by Huawei’s Qiankun ADS 3.3, which enables smart driving capabilities from parking space to parking space. There are plans to further upgrade the driver assistance system to Qiankun ADS 4 in the third quarter.

The EREV variants of the M9 come equipped with a 52-kWh ternary lithium battery pack, offering a range of 266 km to 290 km. On a full charge, the combined range can reach up to 1,474 km. The BEV version features a standard 100-kWh lithium-ion battery with range options of 605 km to 630 km.

In terms of performance, the EREV variants have a front motor with a maximum power of 165 kW and a rear motor with a maximum power of 200 kW, allowing for acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.9 or 5.1 seconds. The BEV versions, on the other hand, have a front motor with a maximum power of 160 kW and a rear motor with a maximum power of 230 kW, with acceleration times ranging from 4.5 to 5.7 seconds.

Initially launched in December 2023, the Aito M9 has seen significant success, with over 170,000 units delivered to date. The SUV was originally available only in six-seat versions but was expanded to include five-seat variants in September 2024 to cater to a wider audience.

With its advanced LiDAR technology, smart driving capabilities, and impressive performance specifications, the 2025 Aito M9 is set to continue the success of the Aito brand in the competitive SUV market.
