Li Auto (NASDAQ: LI) has unveiled its first all-electric SUV, the Li i8, which is scheduled to debut in July. This new model has been included in the latest regulatory catalog released by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) for public feedback.

The Li i8 is a mid-to-large-size SUV that measures 5,085 mm in length, 1,960 mm in width, and 1,740 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,050 mm. It will be available in six-seat, dual-motor configurations manufactured at Li Auto’s facilities in Beijing and Changzhou.

Powered by dual electric motors, the Li i8 boasts a front motor output of 150 kW and a rear motor output of 250 kW, enabling it to achieve a top speed of 180 km/h. The vehicle’s curb weight ranges from 2,580 kg to 2,610 kg, making it a robust and powerful electric SUV.

In terms of battery technology, the Li i8 will utilize lithium ternary batteries from reputable suppliers such as CATL and Sunwoda. These batteries support 5C charging, ensuring quick and efficient charging times for the vehicle.

Additionally, the Li i8 will feature next-generation LiDAR technology as standard, offering enhanced detection capabilities in a smaller and lighter form factor. This technology will contribute to the vehicle’s safety and autonomous driving features.

At the time of its launch, Li Auto plans to have over 2,500 supercharging stations across China to support the Li i8 and provide convenient charging options for its customers. Currently, Li Auto operates 2,083 supercharging stations in China, underscoring its commitment to expanding its charging infrastructure.

The Li i8 joins Li Auto’s lineup of extended-range electric vehicles (EREVs), including the Li L6, Li L7, Li L8, and Li L9. The company’s first battery electric vehicle (BEV), the Li Mega MPV, was introduced in 2024. Li Auto will also introduce an updated version of the Li Mega at the upcoming Shanghai auto show.

With sleek design elements and advanced technology features, the Li i8 is poised to make a significant impact in the electric vehicle market. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting new model from Li Auto.
