CATL, a leading Chinese power battery giant, has recently unveiled its latest battery technologies at a Tech Day event in Shanghai, showcasing its new innovations ahead of the Shanghai auto show. The company is determined to push the boundaries of battery technology even further to maintain its leadership position in the industry amidst increasing competition.

One of CATL’s key announcements is the introduction of the Naxtra sodium-ion battery brand, a groundbreaking development in the world of energy storage. The Naxtra passenger car battery, set to be mass-produced by December 2025, promises to revolutionize the electric vehicle (EV) market with its impressive features and capabilities.

The Naxtra Battery product line includes the Naxtra passenger car battery and the Naxtra 24V heavy-duty truck start-stop integrated battery. Both products boast a wide temperature range capability, ensuring optimal performance in extreme conditions. The Naxtra passenger car battery, in particular, stands out for its high energy density of 175 Wh/kg, offering a range of 500 kilometers and over 10,000 cycles.

In terms of safety, the Naxtra Battery sets a new standard by eliminating combustion-supporting factors at the material level, ensuring intrinsic safety and peace of mind for users. The Naxtra 24V integrated start-stop battery for heavy-duty trucks also promises a long service life and a significant reduction in total life cycle costs compared to traditional lead-acid batteries.

CATL also introduced the second generation of its Shenxing Superfast Charging Battery, setting a new world record for charging rate with its impressive peak charging power and range. The battery’s fast charging capabilities make it a game-changer in the EV market, offering users a convenient and efficient charging experience.

Another highlight of CATL’s innovations is the Freevoy Dual-Power Battery, featuring two independent energy zones and cutting-edge technology to enhance power output, stability, and safety. The self-forming anode technology increases the battery’s energy density, supporting longer ranges and improved performance.

With these groundbreaking developments, CATL is not only revolutionizing the EV industry but also paving the way for future advancements in battery technology. The company’s commitment to innovation and sustainability is evident in its latest offerings, setting new benchmarks for the industry as a whole.
