Chinese Automaker Dongfeng Motor Group Reports 31.77% Drop in Vehicle Sales in August 2024
Beijing (Gasgoo)- Dongfeng Motor Group Company Limited (Dongfeng Motor Group) recently announced a 31.77% year-on-year decrease in vehicle sales for August 2024, with a total of 123,782 units sold.

The company’s new energy vehicle (NEV) sales, however, saw a positive trend with 36,362 units sold in August, marking a 15.26% increase compared to the same period last year. This included 34,296 passenger vehicles and 2,066 commercial vehicles.
For the first eight months of 2024, Dongfeng Motor Group reported a total of 1,198,249 vehicle sales, down by 7.14% year-on-year. Despite the overall decline, the NEV sector showed promise with a 21.2% increase in sales, reaching 220,529 units.
Among Dongfeng Motor Group’s own brands, Dongfeng Motor Passenger Vehicle Company, which includes Aeolus, eÏ€, and NAMMI brands, experienced a significant 72.81% surge in sales with 19,460 vehicles sold in August. The premium new energy vehicle brand VOYAH also saw a 34.05% increase in monthly sales, reaching 5,374 vehicles. Additionally, the high-end electric off-roader brand MHERO sold 134 vehicles in the same period.
