Tesla’s China factory delivered over 86,000 vehicles in August

In August 2024, Tesla’s Gigafactory Shanghai saw a significant increase in vehicle deliveries, with over 86,700 vehicles making their way to customers. This marked a 17% month-on-month growth, with more than 63,000 units sold in China alone. The data, sourced from the China Passenger Car Association, revealed a 37% surge in sales compared to the previous year.

FAW Toyota achieves impressive auto sales in August

FAW Toyota reported selling a total of 72,086 vehicles in August, with the new Avalon model contributing 9,264 units to this figure. The sales of the Avalon soared by an impressive 178% month-on-month, showcasing strong consumer interest in this new offering.

Geely SMILE makes its global debut

On September 3, Geely introduced its latest A0-segment pure electric vehicle, the SMILE (known as the Xingyuan in Chinese), to the world. The SMILE is set to officially launch in the market in October, offering customers a new environmentally friendly and technologically advanced option in the electric vehicle segment.

Pony.ai embarks on autonomous car testing in Guangzhou

Pony.ai has begun testing autonomous cars on the newly opened expressways in Guangzhou. The city recently unveiled its second batch of intelligent connected vehicle testing routes on expressways, connecting key transportation hubs like Guangzhou South Railway Station and Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport. Pony.ai, a pioneer in autonomous driving technology, has obtained the first ICV expressway testing permit in Guangzhou and is now conducting tests on these routes.
