Changan Automobile Expands Global Presence with New German Subsidiary

Chinese automaker Changan Automobile has taken a significant step in its European expansion by officially registering its German subsidiary, Changan Automobile Deutschland GmbH, in Munich. This new entity will not only handle sales, marketing, and service but also focus on customer insights, market research, technical directives, homologation, and local product engineering, strengthening Changan’s presence in Europe.

The company recently hosted its 2024 Middle East and Africa Brand Event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where it introduced three major brands and detailed its future product lineup for the region. Changan also announced plans to enhance localized operations and services, highlighting a comprehensive strategy for its renewed presence in the Middle East and Africa.

In addition to its efforts in the Middle East and Africa, Changan Automobile is actively expanding its global footprint. A new factory in Thailand is set to begin local production in Southeast Asia, while the DEEPAL new energy vehicle brand has started presales in Latin America and is preparing to enter Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. In the first seven months of 2024, Changan’s overseas sales reached 228,000 units, marking a 67.6% year-over-year increase. The automaker has set a target of achieving annual overseas sales of 1.2 million units by 2030.

With these strategic moves and ambitious goals, Changan Automobile is positioning itself as a key player in the global automotive market. Stay tuned for more updates on Changan’s expansion and innovation as it continues to make waves internationally.
