Automobili Mignatta Unveils Rina: A Tribute to 1960s Italian Sports Cars

Italian company Automobili Mignatta (AM) has recently introduced the Rina, a V8-powered speedster designed as a tribute to the iconic sports cars of 1960s Italy. The Rina is built on a carbonfibre monocoque chassis, featuring sleek curved lines and a long bonnet reminiscent of classic race cars from Alfa Romeo, Ferrari, and Maserati.

The interior of the Rina is focused on the driving experience, with no digital displays to distract the driver. Instead, essential gauges like the rev counter, oil, and temperature dials are prominently placed in front of the driver. The speedometer is uniquely positioned on a carbonfibre spine that divides the cockpit into two distinct sections.

Adding to its sporting character, each doorcard of the Rina includes a storage slot for a helmet, a nod to the legendary Lancia Stratos. Under the hood, a naturally aspirated 5.0-litre V8 engine powers the Rina. While the supplier is yet to be confirmed, the engine specifications suggest a connection to the Ford Mustang’s Coyote engine.

Engineers at Italtechnica have enhanced the V8 engine to optimize air intake and reduce weight, hinting at a potential output close to 500bhp. The power is transmitted to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox and a limited-slip differential.

Automobili Mignatta plans to produce approximately 30 units of the Rina each year at its facility in Piedmont, Italy. Each car will offer extensive customization options, although pricing details have not been disclosed yet.
