Nio has recently unveiled the updated ES6 and EC6 models in China, featuring a range of new features and enhancements. These vehicles come equipped with Nio’s in-house Shenji smart driving chip, offering improved performance and capabilities.

The updated ES6 is available in a single variant with a starting price of RMB 338,000 yuan, while the updated EC6 starts at RMB 358,000 yuan. Both models retain their original pricing but come with several upgrades to enhance the driving experience.

One standout feature of Nio’s vehicles is the battery swap option, which allows customers to purchase the vehicle body and rent the battery pack under the BaaS program. This provides flexibility and convenience for consumers looking for alternative ownership options.

Customers can now pre-order the updated ES6 and EC6 models, with deliveries set to begin on May 20. Those who place their orders before June 30 will receive additional benefits, including free battery swaps and NOP+ usage for five years.

The ES6 and EC6 are powered by dual electric motors, offering quick acceleration from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 4.5 seconds and 4.4 seconds, respectively. The updated models focus on safety and comfort, with minimal changes to the exterior design.

Notably, both vehicles are equipped with Nio’s Shenji NX9031 autonomous driving chip, providing advanced computing power equivalent to four Nvidia Orin X chips. This technology, combined with Nio’s Sky OS vehicle operating system, delivers a seamless driving experience with enhanced safety features.

To demonstrate the safety of the updated models, Nio’s founder, William Li, conducted a tire blowout test at a speed of 120 kilometers per hour in a live video stream. The ES6, in particular, is a crucial model for Nio, with a significant contribution to the company’s overall deliveries.

In addition to the ES6 and EC6, Nio is set to launch the refreshed ET5 and ET5 Touring models on May 25, all of which are available for pre-order starting from May 10. With a focus on innovation and customer satisfaction, Nio continues to push boundaries in the electric vehicle market with its latest offerings.
