First look at Alpine A110 EV due next year

Alpine CEO, Luca de Meo, has hinted at the upcoming evolution of the electric A110, emphasizing that the design will stay true to the iconic A110 look. Drawing a comparison to Porsche and its timeless 911 design, de Meo stressed the importance of maintaining the essence of the A110 in the new electric model.

In a strategic move to expand the Alpine range, de Meo revealed plans for “six or seven” uniquely positioned models, with a focus on delivering emotional and pure sports cars. This vision aligns with the brand’s goal of launching seven models by 2030, with the recent introduction of the Alpine A290 hot hatchback setting the stage for future releases.

The most ambitious addition to the Alpine lineup is set to be a supercar, which will serve as the flagship of the brand’s “dream garage”. Alpine CEO, Philippe Krief, shared that the development of the supercar is part of a three-stage process, starting with a brand exercise, followed by a tech showcase, and ultimately culminating in a successful business launch. The upcoming supercar will be developed at a new R&D center, signaling Alpine’s commitment to innovation and performance.

Alpine’s recent concept supercar, the Alpenglow, has already captured the attention of enthusiasts as a brand exercise. Additionally, the introduction of the Alpenglow Hy4, a hydrogen-combustion technology showcase, further demonstrates Alpine’s dedication to pushing boundaries in the automotive industry. The production model, tentatively named Future Alpine Supercar, is expected to redefine the brand’s presence in the market.

Looking ahead, Alpine aims to establish itself as a “French sports specialist brand that also happens to be electric”, showcasing its commitment to performance and sustainability. Head of product, Sovany Ang, emphasized the brand’s focus on accessibility and targeted market segments, rather than pursuing volume or premium status. By staying true to its roots while embracing innovation, Alpine is poised to captivate enthusiasts with its upcoming lineup of models.
