Foton Motor Launches TUNLAND Pickup Range in Mexico

Foton Motor, a commercial vehicle arm of BAIC Group, recently unveiled its TUNLAND series of pickups in Mexico. The launch event showcased the TUNLAND V and TUNLAND G series, which includes the company’s first hybrid full-size pickup and the TUNLAND E5 electric pickup.

The TUNLAND V comes equipped with advanced driver assistance features like adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, and lane-keeping assist, enabling L2.5 autonomous driving capabilities. The model boasts a 14.6-inch smart display, intelligent voice interaction system, ambient lighting, and enhanced NVH performance by 15%. It also includes six airbags for added safety.

In contrast, the TUNLAND G series is designed for both everyday use and off-road adventures, featuring a robust powertrain and technology. It is powered by the AUCAN diesel engine developed with Ricardo, paired with ZF’s 8AT/6MT transmissions, delivering a maximum power of 162hp and peak torque of 388N·m. The Bosch injection system meets Euro 6E emission standards, while the BorgWarner 4WD system offers multiple driving modes to handle diverse terrains. Safety features include six airbags, pre-tensioned seat belts, Bosch ESP, and advanced driver assistance systems. The model also offers ergonomic heated seats and a 10.25-inch HD multifunction touchscreen for enhanced driving comfort.

With the successful launch of the TUNLAND G series in the European market, Foton Motor aims to expand its presence in the global pickup market by introducing the series in Mexico.

As a prominent player in the Mexican commercial vehicle market, Foton Motor offers a wide range of products including heavy, medium, and light-duty trucks, pickups, and new energy vehicles. These products cater to various sectors such as logistics, transportation, and construction, meeting the diverse needs of the Mexican market.
