Tesla has recently unveiled updated versions of its popular Model S and Model X vehicles, bringing with them a few minor changes and a higher price tag. The updates come after months of speculation and anticipation for a refresh of these flagship models.
Earlier this year, Tesla confirmed its plans to release a refresh of the Model S and Model X, sparking excitement among fans of the brand. In the following weeks, slightly updated versions of the vehicles were spotted with minor changes, including a new front bumper camera.
The official changes listed by Tesla for the updated Model S and Model X include a new Frost Blue paint color, increased range of up to 410 miles for the Model S Long Range, improved noise cancellation for a quieter interior, new wheel designs for better aerodynamics and more range, a front fascia camera for improved visibility, dynamic ambient lighting for unique animations, and a smoother ride thanks to new bushings and suspension design.
The new Frost Blue paint option comes at an additional cost of $2,500 and adds a refreshing look to the vehicles. Tesla has also introduced new wheel designs for both models, with the 19-inch wheels now offering a 5-mile increase in range. The 21-inch Velarium wheels are available as a $4,500 upgrade, but come with a slightly reduced range compared to the previous model.
For the Model X, new 20-inch Perihelix wheels and 22-inch Machina wheels have been introduced, adding a touch of style to the vehicle. Tesla claims to have improved cabin noise and added a new front bumper camera for enhanced road condition detection.
The updated models also feature dynamic ambient lighting, similar to what was introduced in the Model 3 and Model Y, adding a touch of modernity to the interior. Unique entry animations along the dash and doors further enhance the overall experience for drivers and passengers.
While the changes to the Model S and Model X are notable, the most significant update comes in the form of a price increase. The Long Range and Plaid versions of both models have seen a $5,000 price hike, bringing the starting prices to $89,990 for the Model X Long Range and $104,990 for the Model X Plaid.

However, the price increase may deter some potential buyers, especially given the lack of significant technological advancements compared to other Tesla models.
