New Audi RS6 E-tron Set to Offer Solid Increase in Power

According to one source, the upcoming Audi RS6 E-tron is expected to offer a significant increase in power compared to the S6 E-tron. While it may not reach the levels of the RS E-tron GT, Audi Sport’s most powerful model with 912bhp, the RS6 E-tron will still be a formidable performer.

Similar to other high-performance electric vehicles like the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N, the RS6 E-tron will feature a sophisticated gearbox and enhanced cabin sound to elevate driver engagement. Audi Sport engineers are also working on developing a progressive torque curve for the electric vehicle.

Equipped with a 94.8kWh battery, the RS6 E-tron is expected to have a lower range compared to the A6 E-tron due to its performance-focused nature. While the A6 E-tron boasts an impressive range of 463 miles for the saloon and 437 miles for the Avant estate, the RS6 E-tron prioritizes power over range.

Visually, both the electric and combustion-engined RS6 models will feature a more aggressive design with angular lines, wider arches, and a pronounced rear diffuser. The PHEV variant will sport larger air intakes and centrally positioned oval tailpipes, while the electric version will grow in length to match its V8 sibling.

Despite efforts to incorporate lightweight materials such as aluminium and composites, the additional hybrid components will add weight to the new PHEV RS6, surpassing the 2090kg mark of its predecessor. The electric RS6 E-tron is expected to exceed 2500kg due to its unique powertrain.
