Li Auto is gearing up to launch its second all-electric SUV model, the Li i6, in September this year. The five-seat pure electric SUV is set to compete with heavyweights in the market such as the Mercedes-Benz GLC, BMW X3, and Audi Q5.

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) in China recently released a catalog of vehicle models that are up for approval for sale, with the Li i6 making its appearance. This move marks the final regulatory step for the vehicle to be officially available to the public.

The Li i6 comes in three different models, namely LXA6503BEVW01, LXA6503BEVW02, and LXA6503BEVW03. The LXA6503BEVW01 boasts a dual-motor setup with a front motor peak power of 150 kW and a rear motor peak power of 250 kW. It measures 4,950 mm in length, 1,935 mm in width, and 1,655 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,000 mm.

On the other hand, both the LXA6503BEVW02 and LXA6503BEVW03 are single-motor models with a peak motor power of 250 kW. They share the same dimensions as the LXA6503BEVW01, making them versatile options for potential buyers.

The Li i6 will be manufactured at Li Auto’s facilities in Beijing and Changzhou, Jiangsu province. With a curb weight ranging from 2,380 to 2,515 kilograms, the SUV can reach a maximum speed of 180 kilometers per hour. It is equipped with lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries sourced from reputable suppliers like CATL and Sunwoda.

Li Xiang, the founder, chairman, and CEO of Li Auto, revealed on Weibo that the Li i6 is a spacious two-row, five-seat family pure-electric SUV that will hit the market in September. The company aims to provide an alternative choice for families considering premium SUVs from renowned brands.

In addition to the Li i6, Li Auto has been actively expanding its lineup of electric vehicles. The company’s current offerings include the Li L6, Li L7, Li L8, and Li L9, all of which are extended-range electric vehicles (EREVs). The Li Mega MPV, launched in 2024, marked Li Auto’s entry into the battery electric vehicle (BEV) segment.

Moreover, Li Auto has been teasing the launch of the Li i8, its first pure electric SUV model, which is expected to debut in late July. The company is currently finalizing production, training, and delivery preparations for the upcoming release.

With the Li i6 and Li i8 on the horizon, Li Auto is poised to make a significant impact in the electric vehicle market. Stay tuned for more updates on these exciting new models from the innovative Chinese automaker.
