Continental AG Expands Operations at Changchun Jingyue Factory

Continental AG recently announced the commencement of operations for the Phase II expansion project at its factory in Jingyue High-tech Industrial Development Zone, Changchun city, Jilin province. The expansion project adds approximately 10,000 square meters of new factory space, incorporating multiple new automated production lines for various products such as zone controllers, intelligent battery sensors, acceleration sensors, and ultra-wideband transceiver modules.

The new facility will also leverage intelligent and digital tools such as automated guided vehicles (AGVs), collaborative robots (cobots), and big data platforms to enhance smart manufacturing capabilities. In addition, the factory will feature a photovoltaic power generation system on its roof and will be constructed according to LEED green building certification standards, with full operation expected by 2025.

Established in 2012, Continental’s Jingyue factory covers a total area of approximately 150,000 square meters and produces a range of automotive products for over 100 customers. The factory is a key production base for the automotive sub-group in Asia, focusing on innovative technologies and solutions to meet the needs of modern customers in the Asian market.

Continental AG’s investment in the Phase II expansion project underscores its commitment to enhancing operational competitiveness and serving the growing demand in the automotive industry. The company’s continued focus on implementing innovative technologies and solutions in Changchun and across China demonstrates its dedication to driving progress and excellence in the region.

With the Phase II expansion project now operational, Continental AG is well-positioned to meet the evolving needs of the automotive market in Asia and beyond. The company’s dedication to sustainable practices and cutting-edge manufacturing processes will continue to drive growth and innovation in the automotive sector.
