Li Auto cuts Q2 delivery guidance, citing temporary impact of sales system upgrade

Li Auto, a leading electric vehicle manufacturer, has recently made adjustments to its second-quarter delivery guidance, lowering the expected number of vehicles to be delivered. The company now anticipates delivering 108,000 units in the second quarter, a decrease from the previously announced range of 123,000 to 128,000 units. This adjustment is attributed to the temporary impact of a sales system upgrade that Li Auto is currently undergoing.

In a statement released today, Li Auto explained that the temporary impact of the sales system upgrade necessitated the revision of its delivery guidance. As a result, the company now expects to deliver approximately 33,205 units in June, following the delivery of 33,939 units in April and 40,856 units in May.

Despite the adjustment in delivery guidance, Li Auto remains confident in its ability to complete the organizational structure upgrade before the launch of the Li i8 model. This upgrade is expected to enhance the company’s organizational capabilities and support its long-term growth strategy.

In a recent development, Li Auto announced new personnel appointments, with President Ma Donghui taking on additional responsibilities for R&D, supply chain, manufacturing, and sales operations. This restructuring aims to integrate the sales department into the R&D and supply group, with Ma overseeing production, supply, and sales operations in preparation for the launch of the Li i8 and Li i6 models.

The upcoming launch of Li Auto’s electric vehicle models comes at a time when competitors like Xiaomi have also entered the EV market. Xiaomi recently launched its YU7 electric SUV, which received over 200,000 firm orders within the first three minutes of its launch. The competition in the EV market is intensifying, with Li Auto’s Li i8 and Li i6 models poised to rival Xiaomi’s offerings.

As Li Auto gears up for the launch of the Li i8 model in late July, preparations for production and delivery are in their final stages. The company is optimistic about the prospects of its new electric vehicle models and remains committed to delivering high-quality products to meet the growing demand for electric vehicles in the market.
