The Genesis G80 EV has always faced tough competition due to its roots in an ICE-powered model. However, the latest version of the G80 EV has addressed many of the issues that held it back from its rivals, making it a standout luxury saloon in the market.

One of the major improvements in the new G80 EV is the addition of 130mm of extra wheelbase, which has significantly enhanced rear-seat passenger comfort. The longer rear doors not only improve the car’s proportions but also provide ample rear knee room, making the ride more comfortable for passengers. Additionally, the car has undergone a modern makeover with updated bumpers, grille, headlights, and aerodynamic modifications to enhance brake cooling. The new set of 19-inch alloys adds a touch of sophistication to the overall look of the car.

Under the hood, the G80 EV comes equipped with a lithium-ion battery pack with a total capacity of 94.5kWh, an increase of 8.6% from the previous model. This boost in battery capacity has led to an improved WLTP range of 354 miles, up from 323 miles. Autocar’s test drive of the previous battery G80 EV revealed that the claimed touring range was realistic, except during extreme winter conditions. The maximum charge speed of 187kW allows for a quick boost from 10-80% in just 25 minutes, adding 250 miles of range.

Overall, the Genesis G80 EV has made significant strides in overcoming its initial shortcomings, offering a luxurious driving experience with improved comfort and range. With its sleek design and advanced technology, the G80 EV is a top contender in the luxury electric vehicle market.
