Kia’s highly anticipated EV4 GT is gearing up to take on the Tesla Model 3 Performance, with expectations of offering a more affordable price point. Recent footage showcases the Kia EV4 GT being tested on US roads ahead of its official debut, hinting at an exciting new addition to the electric vehicle market.

Initially launched in Korea in April, the EV4 has already made waves as the best-selling domestic electric sedan in the country just a month after its release. Priced at a modest 41.92 million won (approximately $30,000), the EV4 is set to enter the US and European markets with a starting price ranging between $35,000 to $40,000 (€35,000).

Boasting a sleek and sporty fastback design, the EV4 is already visually appealing as a potential sports car. With plans for a high-performance upgrade in the pipeline, Kia aims to elevate the EV4’s power output to match its sporty aesthetics.

A recent video from KindelAuto provides a closer look at the Kia EV4 GT being put through its paces in the US, showcasing key design elements such as Kia’s signature vertical LED headlights and Tiger Face grille design. Expected to feature an AWD dual-motor powertrain, the EV4 GT is positioned below the EV6 GT in Kia’s electric lineup.

Anticipated to offer an EPA-estimated driving range of up to 330 miles, the EV4 will also come equipped with a built-in NACS port for convenient charging at Tesla Superchargers. With an estimated base price of $35,000, the performance-focused GT variant could be priced between $50,000 to $55,000.

Comparatively, the Tesla Model 3 Performance starts at $54,990 with an EPA-estimated range of 298 miles and a swift acceleration time from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.9 seconds. As consumers weigh their options between the Kia EV4 GT and the Tesla Model 3 Performance, the electric vehicle market continues to offer exciting choices for eco-conscious drivers.
