VinFast, a subsidiary of Vingroup, has recently inaugurated its new electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing plant in Hà Tĩnh, Vietnam. Spanning 360,000m² in the Vũng Áng Economic Zone, this state-of-the-art facility is designed to produce up to 200,000 vehicles annually, making it VinFast’s second EV production site in operation and its fifth manufacturing facility globally.

Equipped with highly automated production lines featuring cutting-edge technology from renowned partners such as DÜRR, ABB, FANUC, and SIEMENS, the Hà Tĩnh plant boasts a body welding shop, general assembly shop, painting shop, logistics warehouse, and quality control center. Additionally, an auxiliary cluster spanning 240,000m² is under construction to accommodate future expansion plans.

Initially, the plant aims to produce 35 vehicles per hour, focusing on compact urban EV models like the VF 3, EC Van, Minio Green, and other models currently in development. These vehicles are tailored to meet the needs of both domestic and international markets.

Moreover, the VinFast Hà Tĩnh plant is expected to generate approximately 6,000 direct employment opportunities initially, with the potential to expand the workforce to 15,000 employees. The facility also aims to attract auxiliary partners to the industrial zone, fostering a synchronized supply chain and achieving over 80% localization in EV production by 2026.

Vingroup CEO and vice chairman Nguyễn Việt Quang expressed his excitement about the plant’s inauguration, emphasizing its significance in VinFast’s long-term development strategy and global production expansion. He highlighted the company’s goal of producing one million vehicles per year to meet the growing demand in domestic and international markets, showcasing VinFast’s technological capabilities, production autonomy, and commitment to sustainable mobility.

VinFast’s global footprint includes five facilities under development in Vietnam, India, Indonesia, and the US, with upcoming plants in India and Indonesia aimed at supporting international market demands. The company recently achieved a milestone in its US expansion strategy by signing its first authorized dealership in California, marking a significant step towards establishing its presence in the American market.

In conclusion, the VinFast Hà Tĩnh plant represents a significant leap forward for the company in its mission to become a key player in the global EV market. With its advanced manufacturing capabilities, strategic expansion plans, and commitment to innovation, VinFast is poised to make a lasting impact on the automotive industry.
