Polestar to Utilize Volvo Platform for New Entry Model

Polestar, the performance electric vehicle brand, has announced that they will be using a Volvo platform for their new entry model, the Polestar 7. The company has confirmed that they will be making adaptations to the modular platform to ensure that it delivers the driving experience and performance characteristics that Polestar is known for.

CEO Lohscheller expressed his excitement about the collaboration with Volvo Cars for the development and manufacturing of the Polestar 7 in Europe. He believes that this partnership will strengthen their position in the home market and provide access to the latest technologies in a cost-efficient manner.

The Polestar 7 will feature an evolved design language that will be extended to all Polestar models, showcasing confidence and performance potential. Lohscheller emphasized the importance of design, stating that the new models will maintain Scandinavian design principles but with added confidence and performance elements.

Head of design, Philipp Römers, will lead the charge in giving the Polestar models a less minimalistic look while retaining the brand’s identity. Lohscheller assured that the new design approach will evolve but will still be recognizable as part of the Polestar family.

While details on color options were not confirmed, Lohscheller hinted at a potential expansion to offer a broader and brighter range of choices for customers. The Polestar brand is looking to make a statement with the Polestar 7 in the premium compact SUV segment.
