Xpeng G7 SUV Receives Strong Initial Acceptance, Analysts Predict Robust Deliveries

Xpeng (NYSE: XPEV) has garnered significant interest for its latest G7 SUV, with analysts forecasting impressive delivery numbers for the model in the second half of the year.

The G7 received an overwhelming response, securing over 10,000 firm orders within the first nine minutes of its launch. This news was shared by Xpeng on Weibo following the conclusion of the vehicle’s recent launch event.

Priced at RMB 195,800 ($27,330), the G7 is positioned competitively in the market, offering a lower starting price compared to its pre-sales launch price of RMB 235,800 and significantly undercutting the Tesla Model Y’s starting price of RMB 263,500 in China.

Xpeng offers three variants of the G7 – 602 Max, 702 Max, and 702 Ultra – with the higher-priced models starting at RMB 205,800 and RMB 225,800, respectively.

The company announced on Weibo that deliveries of the G7 will commence soon, with some users sharing screenshots indicating that their orders have been matched with vehicles and are expected to be delivered within 1-2 weeks.

The G7 is equipped with Xpeng’s in-house developed Turing AI driving chip, providing up to 2,250 TOPS of computing power, making it the EV model with the highest smart driving computing power currently available. The Ultra variant of the G7 features three Turing chips, while the two Max variants are equipped with two Nvidia Orin X chips, offering 508 TOPS of computing power.

Deutsche Bank’s analyst Wang Bin’s team anticipates annual sales of approximately 100,000 units for the G7, translating to around 8,000 units per month. The team projects Xpeng to deliver 55,000 G7 units in the second half of 2025, aligning with the company’s own projections.

With dimensions of 4,892 mm in length, 1,925 mm in width, and 1,655 mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2,890 mm, the G7 will compete with Nio’s Onvo L60 and BYD’s Tang pure electric SUV in the market.

The G7 marks Xpeng’s first all-new model for the year, following facelift launches for several existing models earlier in 2025. Deutsche Bank forecasts Xpeng’s deliveries to reach 134,000 units in the third quarter and 149,000 units in the fourth quarter, pushing the full-year 2025 sales to 480,000 units, representing a 153 percent year-on-year increase.

In June, Xpeng delivered 34,611 vehicles, bringing the first-half delivery volume to 197,189 units, a substantial 279.01 percent year-on-year growth, surpassing the total delivery volume for 2024. Xpeng aims to double its delivery volume compared to the previous year.

Overall, the Xpeng G7’s strong initial acceptance and projected robust deliveries indicate a promising outlook for the company in the EV market.
