Stellantis Pro One, the commercial vehicles division of Stellantis, has officially kicked off production of the Cargo Box battery electric vehicle (BEV) at the Atessa plant located in Italy. This state-of-the-art facility is renowned for its manufacturing of Stellantis’ Large Vans, including popular models such as the Citroën Relay, Fiat Professional Ducato, Peugeot Boxer, and Vauxhall Movano.
The Cargo Box BEV boasts an impressive cargo capacity of 18.3m3, with interior dimensions measuring 4,230mm in length, 2,032mm in width, and 2,150mm in height. Powered by a Battery Electric Chassis Cab version, it delivers a maximum torque of 410Nm and a power output of 200kW (270hp), supported by a 110kWh battery that offers a driving range of up to 323km.
For customers in need of additional cargo space, the Cargo Box BEV is also available in the L4 configuration, which increases the cargo volume to 20.5m3. This configuration features an internal length of 4,500mm and a height of 2,300mm.
Stellantis Pro One has further enhanced the Large Van range by introducing 22kW AC charging as a standard feature, allowing for a full charge in just six hours – half the time required by the previous 11kW solution.
The Atessa plant is equipped with 15km of assembly line production, the largest body shop within the Stellantis network, and a paint shop that adheres to the latest energy and environmental sustainability standards. With the capability to produce over 1,200 different configuration types, the Atessa plant offers a comprehensive production ecosystem, including 14 engines, four types of transmission, more than 300 options, and eight van volumes, resulting in more than 2,500 different versions.
Additionally, the Atessa plant serves as a hub for Stellantis CustomFit, a conversion and customization program that collaborates with over 550 certified partners globally to meet the unique needs of customers.
Anne Abboud, head of the Stellantis Pro One division, expressed, “The launch of the Cargo Box BEV reinforces the exceptional journey of this plant in meeting the needs of our professional clients efficiently, with maximum quality and time to market in mind.”
