BMW Motorrad has recently unveiled an updated version of its futuristic electric scooter, the BMW CE 04. This scooter, which first went into production in 2021, has received a refresh that includes new trim options, aesthetic enhancements, and additional features aimed at making it even more appealing to urban commuters seeking high-performance electric vehicles.

The BMW CE 04 is known for its stylish design and powerful drivetrain. It features a mid-mounted liquid-cooled motor that delivers 31 kW (42 hp) and 62 Nm of torque. This enables the scooter to accelerate from 0 to 50 km/h (31 mph) in just 2.6 seconds, making it one of the fastest scooters in its class. The top speed is electronically limited to 120 km/h (75 mph), making it suitable for city riding and highway stretches. The scooter boasts a range of 130 km (81 miles) on the WMTC cycle, thanks to its 8.9 kWh battery pack.

In the 2025 update, BMW has introduced three trim options for the CE 04: Basic, Avantgarde, and Exclusive. The Basic trim features a clean Lightwhite paint scheme, while the Avantgarde model adds a Gravity Blue main body with SĂŁo Paulo Yellow accents. The Exclusive trim offers a premium Spacesilver metallic paint job and additional luxury features such as heated grips and a luxury embroidered seat.

The new CE 04 also comes with tech upgrades, including a 6.9 kW quick charger that reduces the charging time to 45 minutes for 0-80% charge. Other optional features include tire pressure monitoring, a center stand, BMW’s “Headlight Pro” adaptive lighting system, emergency eCall system, and Dynamic Traction Control.

Despite these updates, the core components of the CE 04 remain unchanged, including a steel-tube chassis, 15-inch wheels, Bosch ABS, and a 10.25” TFT display with integrated navigation and smartphone connectivity. The scooter still offers ample under-seat storage for a full-face helmet and a unique design that combines futuristic aesthetics with practicality.

With its latest updates, BMW aims to solidify the CE 04’s position as a premium electric scooter in the market. While the price starts at around €12,000 in Europe and $12,500 in the US, the scooter offers motorcycle-grade performance in a more accessible package for daily riders.

The BMW CE 04 continues to lead the way in the premium electric scooter segment, offering a blend of performance, style, and practicality. With its latest refresh, the CE 04 remains a top choice for riders looking for a high-performance urban commuter that doesn’t compromise on functionality or aesthetics.
