Zeekr unveils SEA-S hybrid platform, to start pre-sales of Zeekr 9X at end of Aug

Zeekr, a prominent electric vehicle (EV) maker listed on NYSE as ZK, recently introduced its groundbreaking hybrid platform called SEA-S. This innovative platform is hailed as the world’s first luxury hybrid-exclusive platform built on a pure electric architecture and the industry’s inaugural full-stack 900-volt high-voltage hybrid platform.

The Zeekr 9X, the initial model based on the cutting-edge SEA-S platform, is set to commence pre-sales by the end of the upcoming month. This full-size luxury SUV boasts a powerful powertrain capable of delivering a peak output of 1,030 kW, resulting in an impressive acceleration time from 0 to 100 km/h in under 3.1 seconds.

The Zeekr Super Hybrid System, integrated into the SEA-S platform, features tri-silicon carbide-powered motors and CATL Freevoy hybrid battery. This advanced system ensures a seamless transition between quiet city rides and high-performance or long-distance driving, eliminating concerns about range limitations.

The Zeekr 9X stands as the first model developed on the SEA-S platform, equipped with three silicon carbide motors delivering a peak output power of 1,030 kW and a maximum horsepower of 1,400. This enables supercar-level acceleration capabilities, complemented by a 2.0T engine with a peak power of 205 kW and a remarkable thermal efficiency exceeding 46 percent.

With a 70 kWh battery pack, the Zeekr 9X showcases an impressive CLTC pure electric range of up to 380 kilometers, ranking as the longest among hybrid SUVs globally. When fully fueled and charged, this model offers a combined range surpassing 1,000 kilometers.

Furthermore, the Zeekr 9X supports rapid charging, with a charging rate of up to 6C allowing for a 20 percent to 80 percent charge in approximately 9 minutes and a 10 percent to 80 percent charge in 10.3 minutes. Additionally, the vehicle features Zeekr’s latest G-Pilot H9 autonomous driving system, incorporating dual Nvidia Thor chips with 1,400 TOPS of computing power and five LiDARs for advanced object identification capabilities.

The Zeekr 9X is scheduled to commence pre-sales at the Chengdu auto show towards the end of August, with pricing details yet to be disclosed. Last month, a Zeekr representative informed CnEVPost that the estimated starting price for the Zeekr 9X would be around RMB 600,000 yuan ($83,560).

Debuted at the Shanghai auto show on April 23, the Zeekr 9X combines the advantages of Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) and Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEV), offering disruptive innovations in performance, efficiency, and overall driving experience. The Zeekr 8X, set to launch in Q4, might serve as a smaller and more affordable hybrid SUV compared to the Zeekr 9X.

In conclusion, Zeekr’s unveiling of the SEA-S hybrid platform and the upcoming pre-sales launch of the Zeekr 9X showcase the company’s commitment to innovation and excellence in the EV industry. Stay tuned for more updates on Zeekr’s revolutionary advancements in electric mobility.
