JAC Group Reports 11.83% YoY Dip in May Auto Sales

The Chinese automaker, JAC Group, recently announced that it sold a total of 34,568 vehicles in the fifth month of this year. This figure represents an 11.83% decrease compared to the same period last year, but it marks an 8.37% increase from the previous month.

In May, JAC Group’s passenger car sector, which includes SUVs, MPVs, and sedans, recorded sales of 14,566 units. This segment experienced a significant 30.93% decline year on year. New energy vehicles accounted for 18.42% of the passenger cars sold in May, showing a 5.96% decrease from the previous year.

For the first five months of 2021, JAC Group’s total sales volume reached 173,242 vehicles, reflecting an 8.27% decrease from the same period in the previous year. Passenger vehicles contributed 37.31% to this figure, with a total of 64,630 units sold. Notably, the group sold 10,724 new energy passenger cars during this period, marking a 21.75% year-on-year increase.

JAC Group has been actively expanding its presence in the international market. Recently, the group’s new energy vehicle brand, Yiwei, exported the first batch of 300 Yiwei 3 (EV3) vehicles to the UAE from its smart factory. Additionally, JAC Group inaugurated a showroom in Dammam and launched the T8 PRO automatic pickup model in Saudi Arabia.

With its continued efforts to grow its global footprint and adapt to market trends, JAC Group remains committed to innovation and sustainable development in the automotive industry.
