Hyundai has launched its 2026 Casper Electric SUV, known as the Inster EV in overseas markets, with a starting price of about $20,000. However, with government subsidies, the actual purchase price could be as low as $15,000. The Casper Electric has proven to be a popular choice in Hyundai’s home market, with its affordable price and impressive driving range of up to 196 miles.

The 2026 model year brings some new features and upgrades to the Casper Electric. Hyundai has introduced a new entry-level trim priced at just $27,400, making it even more accessible to consumers. The SUV now comes with a 10.25-inch navigation screen, anti-glare rearview mirror, and LED sun visor lamp as standard features on the Essential trim. Additional safety features, such as Highway Driving Assist and Rear Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist, are included on the Inspiration trim.

The base Premium model starts at $20,000, while the Inspiration and Cross variants are priced higher. With government and local subsidies, the purchase price for the Inspiration trim could be in the range of $14,500 to $18,000, making it an attractive option for those looking for an electric SUV.

Hyundai is hosting a delivery event for the Casper Electric, with customers who take delivery by a certain date receiving a free leather car key case worth $36,000. However, demand for the SUV is so high in Korea that buyers are facing wait times of over a year for delivery.

Overall, the Casper Electric continues to be a popular choice for consumers looking for an affordable and efficient electric SUV. With its new features and upgrades for the 2026 model year, Hyundai has made the Casper even more appealing to potential buyers.
