Geely Galaxy, a sub-brand of Geely Auto, has recently introduced two new lower-priced variants for the A7 hybrid sedan ahead of its official launch next month. The pre-sales starting price for the Geely Galaxy A7 has been lowered to RMB 97,800 ($13,620) for the base model with a battery range of 70 kilometers, and RMB 113,800 for the model with a battery range of 150 kilometers.
This price reduction of RMB 6,000, or 5.78 percent, compared to the previously available models, aims to make the A7 more competitive in the market. The two new variants come with basic driver-assistance systems, while the previously announced variants feature the advanced G-Pilot smart driving system.
The specifications of the new variants show that they have removed the in-car facial recognition function and reduced the number of cameras and radar sensors. The G-Pilot smart driving system, launched by Geely in March, offers various smart driving solutions, with the A7 equipped with the G-Pilot H3 solution supporting urban commuting navigation and highway assistance driving functions.
The Geely Galaxy A7, built on Geely’s GEA architecture, offers two battery options – an 8.5 kWh battery providing a range of 70 kilometers and an 18.4 kWh battery offering 150 kilometers of range. The combined range of the vehicle can reach up to 2,100 kilometers when fully fueled and charged.
Although the official launch date for the A7 has not been announced, the brand’s public relations director, Shan Aifu, confirmed that it will take place in August. Test drive vehicles have already been shipped out, allowing users to experience the model at dealerships.
Deutsche Bank analysts expect the A7 to have a final official starting price of around RMB 90,000, making it competitive with its direct competitors, the BYD Qin L DM-i and Seal 06 DM-i plug-in hybrid sedans. They anticipate monthly sales of the A7 to exceed 10,000 units, following the strong sales performance of the BYD models.
With its lower-priced variants and advanced features, the Geely Galaxy A7 aims to attract customers in the competitive hybrid sedan market. Stay tuned for the official launch of the A7 next month to experience its cutting-edge technology and performance.
