Leapmotor reduces its BEV prices by around 10% in the UK

The Stellantis-Leapmotor JV, Leapmotor International, has made a significant announcement in the UK car market by reducing the prices of its all-electric cars by around 10%. This move, known as the ‘Leap-grant’, applies to the brand’s China-built models and precedes the introduction of the UK government’s new BEV grants, which are set to be implemented soon.

Effective from 18th July, Leapmotor is introducing its own self-funded EV grant, offering up to £3,750 off its electric car range immediately. This means that the T03 5-door electric city car will now be available at just £14,495 OTR, while the C10 family SUV can be purchased from £32,750 OTR, both with 0% APR finance options.

By offering these discounts ahead of the government scheme, Leapmotor aims to provide clarity and savings to its customers right away. Damien Dally, Managing Director of Leapmotor UK, emphasized the brand’s commitment to making the transition to electric vehicles easy for UK drivers. He stated, “We’ve decided to act now because we want to give customers clarity, confidence, and immediate savings – and make the switch to electric a simple choice.”

The Leapmotor T03 is a compact electric city car with features such as up to 165 miles of range (WLTP), rapid DC charging, 10 ADAS features, and premium touches like a panoramic sunroof, adaptive cruise control, and a 10.1″ touchscreen. On the other hand, the C10 is described as a spacious, tech-rich, large electric family SUV offering up to 263 miles of range (WLTP), along with premium features like a panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera, and heated steering wheel and seats.

Additionally, every Leapmotor vehicle comes with a comprehensive four-year warranty, with the battery covered by a separate eight-year guarantee. The company is a Stellantis-led JV, with ownership split 51/49 between Stellantis and China-based Leapmotor.

In conclusion, Leapmotor’s proactive approach in reducing electric car prices and offering immediate savings demonstrates its commitment to making electric vehicles more accessible and appealing to UK consumers. With a focus on innovation and sustainability, Leapmotor is set to play a significant role in the ongoing shift towards electric mobility in the automotive industry.
